DAY 68

Bundaberg to Miriam Vale. 120 km in 8 hours without rain. 60 before lunch, 60 after. Yes.

It’s Sunday and people have just come out of the church, when they so two sweat men coming rolling on their push bikes into the tiny town of Rosedale. The boys out their lunch outside a tiny gas station with one gas pump that is small enough to be used by a lawn mower that comes driving by. Anders and Lasse by a can of spaghetti each and eats it immediately. The ladies outside the store are curious and have to ask if the boys are heading south or north. It turns into a nice conversation and now the two ladies have something to gossip about for weeks. It’s one of the smallest towns the boys have seen a probably not many tourists comes by here, and definitely not many cyclists. When the boys roll out after lunch they are thinking “it’s places like this you have to see to feel you have seen all of Australia”.

After lunch the boys witnessed a fresh car accident. A car that passed them is far into the field in between some trees. A girls is crying and the police have arrived. Based on what the boys could see they were really lucky to not hit the trees and it was hard to understand how the accident happened in the first place. Luckily the boys weren’t cycling there at that exact moment. Knock on wood.

For dinner they had pizza and watched Home Alone 2. It’s the same people that run the gas station that runs the caravan park. Okay pizza and great movie. Lasse laughs out loud for every trick the bad guys fall for.

The boys guys goes to bed early to prepare for a new cycle day tomorrow. Lasse can inform that he is quite done. He falls asleep at 9:05 with a lollipop in his mouth in the tent. Then you really are tired Anders thinks.

PS! They got the best start to the day when their neighbor at the Caravan park gave them 4 deep frozen water bottles which mad it possible for them to enjoy cold water several hours later.
