DAY 71

On the television Obama holds his last speech in Chicago and it will be a while before you hear well spoken speech from a president across the dam. An political era is soon over and in 9 days Anders and Lasse shall watch Trumps enter the White House in Townsville. They turn back time to that day trump won the election on a otherwise beautiful spring day. The had arrived in Kingston S.E and layer knocked out in the grass listening to Norwegian radio. “When Trump moves in to the White House, we will still be cycling” Anders told Lasse 9th of November 2016. The months until now have both gone fast and slow. They are getting closer to the finale, but before that they have to get to the next milestone Townsville.

The boys are preparing for a small race named Rockhampton – Townsville, 730 km divided into 8 stages/days.

1. Rockhampton – Marlborough 105 km

2. Marlborough – Clairview 105 km

3. Clairview – Sarina 87 km

4. Sarina – Mackay 37 km (tempo)

5. Mackay – Lethebrook 110 km

6. Lethebrook – Bowen 84 km

7. Bowen – Home Hill 104 km

8. Home Hill – Townsville 99 km

More heat and more rain is what the boys can expect. It will be 42 in Sydney and several places in Queensland will reach 44-45 degrees. The news channels sends out warnings asking people to be careful. In Rockhampton the forecast “only” says 34 degrees. It will be good to be back on the bike Anders thinks.

PS! Once again it’s the small bike-shops the secures progression on the boys journey. The GIANT store could not help Lasse with a new tire nor a new rim. But the small store “Different Cycles” could. Credit goes to the small stores that has high level of service, knowledge and time.
