DAY 45

Laurieton had an amazing italian restaurant, by far the best on the whole trip. That someone manages to pull off that kind of concept in such a small place is impressive. Anders and Lasse must keep going, otherwise they would still be there eating porchetta. The dessert was a Nutella-pizza with strawberries and vanilla ice that got everybody in the restaurant to turn around and look at the boys and the boys table. Amazing.

The leg on friday turned out to be a lot similar to the one they had yesterday, with highways and plenty of rain. In additon, todays distance added a new element, Roadwork. On the 73 km long leg to Kempsey, probably 50 of those were filled with roadwork. That makes the road shoulder smaller and they get the traffic much closer. This is not a distance that will be remembered forever, it was to wet, heavy and similar to yesterdays. Det headwind also made the day much heavier than expected. But by all means they got a early afternoon where Anders insisted that they had to cut the spending on food after yesterdays luxury at the amazing italian restaurant. Today the boys ate a banana and a shake for breakfast, lunch was banana, gatorade and cookies, and dinner was beans and soft drinks. Canned beans are the new taco!

When arriving at the caravan park the hang up their wet clothes and let the tent dry. A good and warm shower, dry clothers and a power-nap for Lasse in the tent. Anders puzzles with some other stuff like filling more air in the tires, adjusting some stuff on his bike, cleaning the bike and changing some of the elements that holds the bags on the bike. At the end of todays journey Anders came to close to a road indicator and it was hard enough to rip of the left bike bag. Luckily the boys spare equipment for these bikes, just in case incidents like this would happen.

It is friday and if they were back in Oslo they would be looking at whatever reason they could to celebrate something or in some other way enjoy the evening by opening a bottle of wine. If you have a good wine you are saving for a special situation? Drink it while you have the chance.
