RUN4.NO
DAY 44
After sun must come rain. The temperature falls over 10 degrees overnight, the skies lay low and the sun is not to be seen at all. The air humidity is high and their bodies are stuck to the sticky mattresses due to this. It rains so they decides to eat breakfast at the gas station near the caravan park. 2 pie with bacon and egg and 2 shakes. Pie is not something you eat, unless you are really hungry. (Yes there probably is such a thing as delicious pies, but those are not the kind you’ll find at gas stations in Australia).
They cycle with raincoat but decides not to use rain pants. After 20 km they have reached Forster, the place they were supposed to reach yesterdat. They decide to cycle as far as they bother today, due to the rain. Another 20 km and they reach Taree Service Center that has Subway, KFC, McDonalds and a gas station. Lasse chooses Subway while Anders chooses KFC for lunch. They fill more air in their tires and look at the map and sees that there is 60 km left to Laurieton. It rains more than before, but there are noe places in between where they can stay, they are at the highway and must continue.
Luckily it is flat more or less the whole way and a small tailwind makes it all possible. They cycle at a record high speed that even an e-bike would struggle to follow over that amount of time. Before 4:30 pm they arrive and set up the soaking wet tent beneath a huge tree. After a warm shower and toothbrushing they are ready for Lasse’s favorite thing of the day, dinner. To what you want whenever you want and still loose weight is something that suits this urban smalltown fella from Norway.
On days like these where everything is grey, wet and cold it is important to be dedicated to the task. The job needs to be done and on the boys way to Darwin they have more members on the team. Luckily.
The boys’ second sponsor on their Journey is run4.no . A small webshop that both deliver quality and design when it comes to sportswear. Are you going running or are cycling half of Australia around like Anders and Lasse? The best socks you will get at this store, that probably is Norways smallest webshop. Behind Run4.no is Torbjørn (44) from Steinkjær, but whom now lives just outside Oslo. Randomness led to that Torbjørn and Lasse met on Instagram, and Lasse didn’t hesitate about mentioning the boys adventure. After a few conversations it is clear “Of course Run4.no wanna be a part of the team!” Torbjørn informs Lasse. Lasse immediately calls Anders at work, well they both were at work: “We have another sponsor, we will get clothes and socks” Lasse says with a joy in his voice. Nice Anders thinks, even though their shape is not the best it is important to look good.
They have awesome socks in all colors with different height and design, in addition to a jacket and cycle tricot each. Amazing. And even better, the clothes was in the front desk of Bel Air Caravan Park, ready to be picked up, at the first place they where camping in Adelaide. Talk about great service!
Run4.no has the the rights to sell and distribute the brand S T E I G E N in Norway, a brand started by the Australian athlete Louis Rowan. They offer socks with a guarantee that you will not get gall wounds, something Anders and Lasse can go good for. Anders and Lasse er proud to have Run4.no on their team.
Do you know someone that are active, runs or cycles? Get them these socks next time you give a present.
