NORTHSIDE CYCLES
DAY 22
Stuff takes time snd sometimes it is necessary and okay. But, it tears on the patience and now the boys have had 3 days of the the bike – that is one to much and Anders is restless.
Lasses bike service and reparations took longer than expected due to the spokes didn’t arrive on time so the departure from Melbourne was delayed one day. Lasses bike is as good as new or maybe even better. 72 new spokes, higher handlebars, adjusted breaks and derailleurs – yes almost everything. Anders bike took a smaller service, but also got noticeably better.
The bike mechanic and owner of Northside Cycles was kind and helpful. Anders and Lasse got to know him quite well since they waited in his store for most of that day. When the bikes were ready Anders and Lasse didn’t want to start late on a leg so they decided to check in to an apartment and take a last night in Melbourne. An Asian girl gave them the keys but she didn’t let them take the bikes up. Like Anders and Lasse would let their new bikes stand on the street during the night in Melbourne. Nope, they sneaked them up to the 32nd floor later that night. Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Tomorrow the longest trip yet awaits with Alexandra as their target and we’ll see if it is doable or not.
