SHADES ON
Anders slowly turned his head to the right and discreetly tipped his head backwards when he got eye contact with Lasse, whom was sitting in the other side of the room. Lasse immediately understood this secret language and followed Anders out to the balcony. Suddenly the game on the television all the boys are watching don’t seem so interesting anymore, even though Manchester United was playing. Anders knows that when an idea comes up, there is no time to loose. Things tend to take time, people must be bearbeidet And planning is half the job.
The sun is shining and the boys got a cold beer each at the balcony in the big great little Oslo. Anders has an agenda and cuts to the chase pretty quick. “It is starting to become a long time since we went on an adventure! You wanna bicycle around Australia? Take a long holiday, Seize the moment, explore this mother earth and grab the possibilities that life has given us? It is only you I can ask about something like this, because I know you want too. You have the same mentality as me, react when you hear the word traveling”.
Lasse directly answers as loud and clear as Anders expected.
“You know I can’t say no, Anders!”
“Great, I promise you will not regret it” says Anders.
They walk back into the living room, watches the rest of the game, and party in Oslo with an extra smile on their mouth. This is how easy the beginning of the boys’ biggest dream started. It was no but and ifs, no this and that, no maybe maybe-not, it figuratively was no worries (they would come later). It was pure passion and excitement.
Anders and Lasse is at this moment on their way to Australia, their second home, the place that gave them all those memories about sunshine, sunburns and really hard workdays with manual labour. The country that filled their heart and souls with everlasting memories. They boys are back only older, wiser and fatter.
Lasse is going to order tomato juice from the air hostess and Anders will still think that it is some of the strangest beverages to order. The guys knows each other’s habits well, as they have flowed together numerous times to five different continents, and they think that this is a good thing when their biggest and toughest adventure begins.
Hopefully the upcoming months are filled with blood, sweat and tears. Excitement and accomplishment is something they will only get to feel when they do the exact same – and get on that detour flight to Norway, when Lasse orders tomato juice and humbly looks over at Anders to seek the acceptance of his order. The acceptance for this order he will never get, but Lasse will see the thankfulness for Lasse joining Anders on this trip in Anders eyes.

…… you might believe that cutting cabbage and celery by hands for 7 months back in 2011 was enough these guys.
