DAY 48

A new day with grey cloudy weather and the boys starts to wonder if they are in Australia at all. The sun only for a few short moments shows itself, but not like you are expecting in Australia. A positive thing with the weather being like this is that it is easier to sleep at night. It is still warm enough to only laying on top of the sleeping bag.

Sunday night Anders and Lasse went through the Christmas and how they are going to celebrate the holiday. At first they will have a well earned holiday in Surfers Paradise for Christmas, then they will go to the farm, before they will get a comfortable celebration of the new year in Brisbane. they are meeting up some old well known faces and are gonna let the bikes rest and maybe even get some service. They will try to celebrate Christmas in that degree it can feel naturally and plan the road ahead.

Monday, new week and new possibilities to do something as rare for the boys as cycling. Today it was 100 km from Tyndale to Ballina, in direction of the coast. 60 km before lunch and 40 km after. This is done in 6 hours and they set up the tent on a small caravan park in the middle of the city center. Ballina Svimmingpool is very close to the caravan park and Lasse discretly changes to svimming shorts under a towel as fast as he can. He has set his sights on the huge water slides and wonders if Anders want to join him. Anders passes due to his ribs still hurts. “Bring the GoPro” Anders says. “It is a bunch of kids there, and then I bring a camera to svimming pool? Nope” Lasse replies. Kids comes in different sizes Anders thinks to himself before Lasse leaves.

Lasse also want to jump off an airplane, also known as Skydiving, something Anders don’t want to do either. Therefore tomorrows distance is limited to 30 km to Byron Bay. Lasse is skydiving on wedensday which means adrenaline day for Lasse and resting day for Anders. After that they will head to Kingscliff on Thursday before last stage before the holidays goes to Surfers Paradise on friday.
